This includes counterfeit versions of our FB3QS and FB4 hardware, as well as our QuickShow and BEYOND software. As a company, Pangolin is taking proactive measures to combat counterfeit sales. Including legal and technological means.Manufacturing, selling, renting, or using counterfeit products is a crime, punishable by law. And we are aggressively pursuing legal recourse against those we find manufacturing, selling, renting, or using counterfeit Pangolin products.

Counterfeits products can be difficult to detect.

And often sellers of these products will market them as original or claim they are an “authorized reseller”, as the visual appearance of counterfeit products look very similar to originals. Given this, it is important that you, as a consumer within the industry, protect yourself. And take due diligence when deciding where, and from whom, to purchase Pangolin products.

NOTE: If you work with a counterfeit device, you are at great risk. All counterfeit hardware eventually fails, and when it does it may also result in the termination of legitimate hardware and software licenses in your setup.

Additionally, when counterfeit hardware is detected, it will lock up other legitimate hardware and software is the setup, as a protectionary measure. So please, be careful where you buy Pangolin products, and from who you rent or do business with! HOW DO I KNOW IF THE PANGOLIN PRODUCT I WANT TO BUY 
IS LEGITIMATE OR COUNTERFEIT?

You cannot tell if a product is legitimate or counterfeit, just by looking at online photos or talking to other folks in various forums about the seller.

If you have questions about an offer you received, or one that you see online (i.e. it looks too good, to be true), contact us to verify before you buy.

We will be able to alert you if the product you are considering is in fact genuine or a potential counterfeit. We will either confirm the listing or (if it looks suspicious), ensure you are paired with a trusted and reliable stocking distributor who carries legitimate product. If a stocking distributor is not available in your area, we will fulfill your order directly from one of our stocking facilities in the US, EU, or Asia.

WHERE ARE COUNTEREIT PRODUCTS ARE BEING SOLD

Many counterfeit products are being sold online through various online stores, most of which originate from China.

These include:

• Tmall

Laser factories and manufacturers from China

Counterfeits are also being sold by, and integrated into, lasers sold by several factories in China. Many of these factories will claim to have original Pangolin hardware and software or claim that they are an “authorized reseller”. They may even go so far as to share a forged documented, attesting to this. If you are unsure about the integrity of a reseller or manufacturer, contact us before you buy. We have records on all FB3QS and FB4 systems sold and can verify if a reseller or manufacturer is an official partner.

HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF?

• Only purchase Pangolin products from approved Pangolin distributors or directly from Pangolin.
• Unsure of who those are?- Ask! Email Hello@pangolin.com, and we’ll connect you with a local partner, or work to serve you directly.
• Do not buy our products on sites including AliExpress, Alibaba, Taobao, Tmall, JD.com, eBay, or Amazon. We, as well as our distributors do not sell on these platforms. The majority of products on these platforms are counterfeits.
• Do not rent from – and do not rent to – companies you believe may be working with counterfeit devices, or who have purchased equipment from entities involved with the production, sales, or distribution of counterfeit hardware.
• Do not connect counterfeit hardware to any officially licensed version of BEYOND. Contact Support@pangolin.com if you by accident connected a counterfeit unit to your official license!.
• If an offer online or from a seller looks too good, to be true – it probably is. Take caution, and reach out to us first, before you buy.

HOW TO RECGONIZE COUNTERFEIT HARDWARE

This is just a guide and not a guaranteed solution! Counterfeits are always evolving, and it is almost impossible to recognize these without connecting them to the latest version of the software.

The best way to test the hardware is to download the latest version of QuickShow using the following link: https://download.pangolin.com/qs. Connect the controller to the software and let the software test if the unit is genuine.

Absolute red flags are:

• FB3: Blue usb cables
• FB3: Version 2.5 of the install DVD
• FB4: The hardware is sold in combination with BEYOND 5.1
• FB4: Check the surface of the FB4. The surface of the counterfeit device is slightly worse.
• FB4: Overall fit and finish of the cutouts are sloppy and not professional.
• The encoder knob is hard plastic instead of being rubberized.
• BEYOND bundled with hardware like FB3 and FB4.

HOW TO RECGONIZE COUNTERFEIT SOFTWARE

If the supplier of the license tells you to use a specific version of the software and they advice you NOT to upgrade, this is certainly counterfeit software. All our software comes with Lifetime free updates, and you should always be able to download and install the very latest version of either QuickShow or BEYOND.

Our software is NOT sold on Alibaba, eBay, Ali Express, etc. All very cheap licenses are suspected to be counterfeit. Software is only sold on Pangolin.com and through authorized distribution channels.

Red flags are;

• Older version of Pangolin software being sold as “new”.
